CAN YOU MAKE IT OUT?

The army has announced a total evacuation: the city has been overrun with zombies!

Make your way to the bunker outside of town, but be careful: you never know what terrors you’ll encounter on the path to safety.

Play with or without a fitness tracker

The Outbreak syncs steps and workouts from Apple Health (iOS) and Google Fit (Android), which connect activity from hundreds of fitness trackers and apps.

And because Apple Health and Google Fit can sync steps directly from the smartphone’s internal pedometer, using a fitness tracker is purely optional.

“I really liked how it works for every fitness level.”

I was relatively new to my company when the Outbreak challenge was announced. It was a great team building experience! I interacted a lot more with my coworkers because we took walks together and cheered each other on. I really liked how it works for every fitness level. Personally, I walked a lot more because of this challenge. My family started walking with me to keep me company and we spent some quality time together away from all devices. I hope we repeat this adventure soon!”

Frequent Questions

Does A Step Ahead™ require a fitness tracker?

No. For users who don't have a discreet fitness tracker (like a Fitbit), A Step Ahead™ can use the smartphone's internal pedometer to track activity. For users who do have a fitness tracker, A Step Ahead™ connects to Apple Health (iOS) and Health Connect (Android), which each sync data from hundreds of fitness trackers and apps.

How does this work? What happens once I purchase a mission?

On this page you can specify your mission start date, the activity prescription, date and timezone, and the number of tickets to buy. Simply select your options, add the mission to your cart, and complete checkout to proceed.

Once your payment is processed our system will create your challenge and you'll gain access to your Mission Manager, where you can invite participants to download the A Step Ahead Challenge™ iOS/Android app and join your challenge. The Mission Manager also allows you to control the start date, add more tickets, manage the teams in your challenge, and more.

Can I purchase more challenge tickets later if I don't know how many people are going to participate right now?

Yes! Once you've purchased a challenge, there's a user-friendly challenge admin area where you can add more tickets for participants to use.

What kind of user support is included?

We have a detailed support portal with dozens of topics in easy-to-understand Q & A format, and our support staff is on deck to answer questions via an email ticketing system.

I'm not sure which activity prescription to choose... help!

For most groups, the standard prescription is plenty. It starts easy and escalates week over week. It'll include a nice mix of steps required to outrun the enemy horde, and exercise to fight through obstacles. If you've got a particularly athletic group, the extreme prescription ramps up the difficulty.

Why do you ask for the primary time zone?

Some game mechanics, like daily step goals, require a cutoff time to transition to the next day or week long period. We recommend that you choose the time zone where most of your group will be.

Is A Step Ahead™ family friendly?

Yes. The tone and visuals are all family friendly and appropriate for all ages.

What are the A Step Ahead Challenge™ app's minimum requirements?

For iPhone: iPhone 6 or newer with iOS 11X or higher.

For Android: Android version 5.1.1 or higher. Device needs to have at least 2GB of ram, higher with some devices.

I love that there was an app to use for this – many other challenges require logging into a website to track progress. Will do again!

I wish it was harder. I run every day already, but it was good for my dad, he needs to move more and it was also nice to be able to do this with him even though he’s in Philly and I’m here in LA.

Had a great time doing ground zero with my company so got a group together and we did the tryout with our families. Only complaint is that it was hard to get the kids involved since the app doesn’t run on ipad.

We did this challenge to get sense of how this works. It turned out to be one of the best step challenges we have ever done. Will definitely do a longer one next time

this was too short, they clearly want you to buy the more expensive ones so they make this one cheap and short
