Health Connect is the new health platform for Android. It collects data from many different Android apps and shares them securely with apps that want to use it, such as A Step Ahead.

If the activity app you use is not in our list, it’s possible that it will still work with A Step Ahead if it integrates with Health Connect. Before connecting, make sure Health Connect is supported.

How to Connect

To add Health Connect to your sources list:

1. Tap Activity Sources in the game menu from the lobby or gameboard

2. Tap Pair a New Source

3. On the next screen choose I use an app on my phone, then select Health Connect in the list of apps and tap Select this App

4. Now you’ll need to grant access to Health Connect. Tap Grant Access, then allow all the permissions on the pop-up that appears (scroll down to see them)

How to Log Exercise

Health Connect does not have a native way to track exercise within the Health Connect app. You can track exercise using a 3rd party app or A Step Ahead’s Built-In Activity Tracker.

Troubleshooting

My steps or exercise aren’t being added to my banks
Your app may not sync your data to Health Connect automatically. Check in your app if there’s a way to manually sync.

How do I manually enter steps?
Health Connect does not have the ability to manually enter data. If you use a 3rd party app that supports manual entry, that data can be synced to A Step Ahead through Health Connect.

Note: Manually added steps may be limited or disabled during the setup process by the organizer of your mission.

How do I get power?
Power is earned from exercise time, so if your app supports logging exercise you will earn power from doing so.
