Troubleshooting

My steps or exercise aren’t being added to my banks
There are two major causes of syncing issues for Fitbit:

  1. A Step Ahead doesn’t have the correct permissions to access data from your Fitbit account
  2. Fitbit hasn’t synced its data to its servers

To fix issue 1, you’ll need to delete your connection between Fitbit and ASA and re-establish it.

1. Open the Fitbit app and go to Fitbit Settings

2. Scroll down and tap Manage access to account, then Manage connected apps on the following screen

3. Find A Step Ahead in the list and tap Disconnect, then confirm on the next screen

4. Finally, go through the above How to Connect steps again and make sure you grant all Fitbit permissions when asked

To fix issue 2, you can manually trigger a sync to your Fitbit account by swiping down on the dashboard page of the Fitbit app.

How do I manually enter steps?
You can manually enter steps by following the How to Log Exercise steps above and choosing Walk as your activity. You cannot manually specify the steps taken: enter the distance you walked and Fitbit will calculate the steps automatically.

Note: Manually added steps may be limited or disabled in the setup process by the organizer of your mission.

How do I get power?
You earn power based on the number of minutes of exercise you’ve logged. Your Fitbit devices will automatically record exercise time, but you can manually log a workout by following the steps in the How to Log Exercise section above.
