How do I invite people to my mission?

Once you’ve set up your mission, you can send invites to your friends inside the app.

  • Choose “Send Invites” in the top-right corner of the mission lobby or from the pop-up menu in the bottom-right corner.
    • If you send an invite that includes tickets, players will use a ticket from your wallet to enter the mission.
    • If you send an invite without tickets, the person you invite must buy their own ticket.
  • Share the link and invite code with the people you want to invite. The link will direct them to install the app, and the invite code will allow them to find your mission and join it.

The Outbreak syncs steps via Apple Health (iPhone) or Google Fit (Android). Some trackers like Fitbit and Garmin connect directly to The Outbreak.

If you are using a different watch or tracker then make sure that it can connect to either Google Fit or Apple Health so that you can sync steps.

Teams

Do I need to create a team if I play by myself?

Yes! To play solo, simply create a team of 1.

How many teams can I have in my Mission?

You can have as many teams in your Mission as you want. Allowable team sizes are 1-10 players, and teams can have different numbers of players.

How do steps work on a team?

All step/distance goals in The Outbreak™ are per-player goals, so when you play as a team, the goals scale to the size of the team.

For example, if you play the Escape race, the target distance is 60 miles. If you have a team of 3, your team will need to cover 60 miles per player, or 180 total miles, split however you like among the team members.

To keep the goal messaging consistent steps are simply shared by the number of team members at the time they’re spent to become Team Steps. This allows teams of different sizes to play together and all see the same goals.

We want to compete against each other in the race!

Not a problem! Teams can be anywhere from 1-10 players. If you’d like to compete individually, simply create teams of 1.

Can I lock my team?

Yes! The player who creates the team is the team captain. The captain has the ability to lock the team with a passcode so that only players with the passcode can join.

How do I remove players from my team?

Team captains can remove other players from their team before the Mission starts. To remove a player:

  1. Tap the pop up menu in The Outbreak™ app
  2. Select Team
  3. Select your team
  4. Tap the red X next to the player you wish to remove

You can spend your Power to heal both yourself and your teammates. To heal a teammate:

  1. Tap the teammate’s character on the gameboard
  2. Tap on the medical kit icon
  3. Follow the prompts

Can I see other teams on the gameboard?

Yes! Simply scroll left or right on the gameboard. Other teams will be displayed on the by their team flag. Tap on their team flag to see the team’s players, and tap on other players to see their stats.
